Brain storming activities
We call this game The Brainstorm Game and it’s fabulous for encouraging children to think creatively, developing brainstorming skills and divergent thinking ability. Providing regular opportunities for children to think creatively encourages them to be receptive to innovation and invention, and to be open to alternatives when learning, solving problems and facing new situations.
Phonics
In Caterpillars, teachers use phonics to help children learn the sounds of alphabet letters. It turned out as a great exercise to teach letter sounds in languages. Teaching phonics helps children learn about phonemic awareness. It helps to know the links between 2 sounds, and how to speak them together. It improves your child’s spelling and reading ability. It trains your kid to decode complex words, & how to pronounce those words easily.
Puppet shows
Children are more open to learning when they are having fun, and a puppet show offers an entertaining approach to introducing new concepts to children. Puppets can act as role models for behaviour and emotional regulation, and they can boost communication skills through structured and playful teacher-led opportunities. Puppets offer children an opportunity for role-playing that allows them to explore new personalities, and ideas and develop their imagination. Various studies have proved that puppets are very effective aids for fostering cooperation, enhancing creativity, and improving communication in pre-schoolers
Motor skill development activities
Developing motor skills are critical for children as they move through life, and not just for academic purposes. These skills are often associated with more academic types of activities, like writing, cutting, squeezing, gripping a top, rolling out play dough, and manipulating puzzle pieces. We are giving more importance for their motor skill development through the different activities. Children will stoop, run, jump, crawl under, climb over, throw, carefully pinch, and stop suddenly to investigate. All of these actions help to build a strong foundation of gross and fine motor development.
